One of the things nobody tells you about podcasting, is that once you have a podcast and figure out how to produce a podcast, you start having a gajillion ideas for other podcasts and the temptation becomes very great to eat into your time and start up new podcasts. About a month ago I had an idea for “Body, Mind and Soul”, a fitness podcast for Catholics who wish to get in shape, learn more, and enrich their spiritual lives. Independently and unbeknownst to me, Scott and Christine Maentz started up a daily audio and video cast on ustream called The Sweatcast where they invite viewers to join them as they do their daily workout, share a few jokes, play great podsafe rock and blues music, play a podcast about the Saint of the Day, and interact with their ustream audience. It’s alot of fun and it’s helping me to keep on with my fairly new fitness classes. It’s also great that they they are filling the niche for a Catholic flavored fitness program.
A couple of days ago, I got an email from the editor of The Alexandrian, a new Canadian, peer-reviewed, Catholic academic journal on the internet. Apparently, she enjoys this blog, even if it is rarely updated, and had linked to on their blog. I’m happy to return the favor.
