My wife *hates* it when I answer a question with a question, but I can't help it.

It's obvious that I see great value in the collision of faith and social media, but it seems that I'm in the minority (read: flying solo) among people I know in my local faith community. So my question becomes, how do we convince others that this community is 1) valid and 2) a wonderful way to experience the larger Church?

I know that we've had this discussion many times before, but I'll say it again. If we hear the same thing over and over again (for me things click like the hundredth time), we finally start to comprehend them. The Eucharist is the *original* social network and it's the *first* new medium.

I believe that every time we make real progress in community in communion processions, podcasting, or anywhere else that God is being glorified, the Holy Spirit says "FINALLY! But they still have so much to learn."

The community is there. Our job is to serve it, to wash feet and to be feet.

Ebeth just came by my blog and thanked me for hosting Carnival 168. Confused, I did some poking around and realized that you're actually hosting Carnival 165 here! No worries; the numbering was hopelessly wrong for a long time until recently. :)

I love the Catholic Carnival. I think I am going to start sending in blogs to be added next time. This is a great way to keep the online catholic community a tight group. I love it so much.

I have registered to attend with the Peterborough Diocese (even though I live in the TO diocese).
Part of the registration fee is the translation ear piece for the various talks.

FYI, I am on the Board of Directors For NFPA. The President of the Toronto Natural Family Planning Association, Jasmin Lemieux-Lefebvre works at Salt and Light TV in Marketing/Communications. He has been "borrowed" by the EC until July.

We had the Ark of the Covenant at our parish over a year ago. Someone asked me the other day if it actually had gone through Quebec yet? I wasn't sure.

Pax Christi,

BTW, it was intentional to bring my son to the vigil, even if he can't sit still! Because I knew there were elements of it that he would like very much. And he did.
